Sunday Night -Black Lab Painting
WOW! This weekend went way too fast! Some progress was made, but even more is needed. Tonight's painting exhibits that classic dog head tilt. It's a 5x7" original oil of a grown black Lab on an orange background.

Thrashin' Thursday!
Got all those grades posted, and it's all good. Now time to clean up that studio and get some paint on those white canvasses. Time for some fun stuff....the weather is promising this weekend for long, cleansing and invigorating bicycle rides then hours at the easel. Tonight's little painting is that spunky little Yorki with his chew toy and red ball. Another 5x7" oil on canvas panel.

Finals Week-Wednesday Evening! Christmas Break Begins!
Yeah! Tonight is a frozen evening of a bright, full moon. The evening is very blue in color. I went for a brief walk after class, because the moon is so bright the evening beckoned me for a short walk. This was the last night of class...and everyone did well on their final. So I salute my students for studying and am excited to begin the Holiday. Tonight's offering is a little painting of a brown lab puppy named Sarge. Sarge is hanging out on the sidewalk.

Saturday Stuff-
It was off to Fort Worth today to pickup a new framed pastel. WOW! It looks great. Milagros Gallery in Fort Worth does a great job, and they are slowly assisting me in re-framing important works in the Western Series. They framed Fireflies and Falling Stars, this month. It was a quick trip then back to the Studio. But I could not resist stopping by Asel Art Supply and picking up a few new canvasses - an early Merry Christmas to me. Now, that sunset on the way home was a special gift. It was one of those very special Texas Sunsets...sunsets like none other with our vast sky and long horizon. Okay, back to work...tonight's posting is one big boy Basset. It is a 5x7" Oil on Canvas Panel. Pretty soon it will be time to start the new Blog...the one about the Hot Air Balloons.

Friday Night Blues~
Tonight's offering is a Boxer boy on Blue. It's a 5x7" oil on canvas panel. It's a tired night and it was a long week. Looking forward to the weekend....need to get up early and start painting. Also have to make a decision...marketing in Plano, or drive to Fort Worth gallery, pick up a framed painting...drop off another to be framed. Milagro's gallery with works much different from this Pets Tangent...I love working on the series, but I have so many more I want to do. I need to hurry. Paint faster. Work harder. Paint more.

Tuesday~Closing in on the end of the Semester
It's almost the end of the semester, and time to go into that insane elf-like trance of creating lots of NEW art work. The canvasses are stacked against the wall with care, so images will soon begin appearing there...Sorry. That is really lame. But everywhere people are talking in rhymes and sing song voices. Tonight's listing is from a Street Sale and it's a dalmation modeling his new cap. 5x7" Oil On Canvas Panel.

Just another Monday-
This was a good Monday. Brisk evening and a long walk, have just cleared my thinking and my thoughts. Tonight was a great sunset, followed by a more special moonset with two diamonds in the sky, Jupiter and Venus. They said we won't see this special alignment again until the year 2052. I felt compelled to make sure I took in the vista tonight. Tonight's posting is a poser white Chihuahua with his ears tucked back, and showing his little teeth. A painting and a pose only a mother or his human, can love. Unique Original, 5x7" Oil on Canvas Panel.

Sunday-I don't wanna go to work tomorrow!
Alas, I do despair. Tomorrow is back to the PIT. I've got to keep moving forward, and that would be away from those types of Mondays. Tomorrow I resolve to work on my Artist Marketing and Business Plan. Tonight, time to get some sleep and prepare for tomorrow- and time to post another dog painting. Pretty soon I will have to start the Hot Air Balloon Blog...
Tonight's painting is a 5x7" Study of a Bull Mastiff.

Saturday -Holiday Weekend and the Gift of Motivational Assistance
Someone helped me realign my motivation yesterday. They came in and erased my board. They changed my opening motivational statement from "I want to..." to "I will..." Thanks! I needed that assistance. Today I printed out 5 applications for Art Competitions. I will enter more competitions and art shows. I'll share this forward momentum here. And add to it daily. Today's posting is another 5x7" Oil on Canvas panel of a Yellow Lab on deep, dark blue.

Black Friday...
I forget why they call this day Black Friday- but I enjoyed the day regardless. Went for a long drive in the country viewing those wonderful RED OAK leaves. And tonight a fog is settling in. Tonight's painting is a small work of a Basset puppy in Blue Bonnets. The son helped me work on the site, and it is a bit more soothing and more visually appealing. So soon the day comes to start pushing forward to making this a financially feasible offering. Thoughts of offering commissions of your venerable pets come to mind.

Saturday, 1st Bike Rally
The colors were bright, the day was cold and brisk, and I tried my first bike rally today. Riding in a bike rally generates lots of energy – that seemed to hold a positive charge for me all day. It was a great way to really SEE and HEAR the world. An unfortunate tire event ended the ride earlier than intended, but it was still an outstanding day. Tonight I am posting one of many 5x7” oil renderings of the “White Dog”.

Finally Friday
This week has taken away all of my mojo. I think I made a mistake and let the job steal my mojo. This weekend I intend to get focused again and back after it. Time to get the brushes out and start new works. That will bring my mojo back. Hey, I think this might be a good weekend to paint my little brother's dog...his name is MOJO! Today is a 16x20" painting of an escaped whippet called Dodger. Man, he looks like a Dodger. Smart little dog though.

Tuesday -
Okay, finally made it to the Studio at 7:20pm. That 8-5 job sure takes a chunk out of life. But I also got in a bike ride, some dinner, and a walk. No time to waste only time to post another from the "Smiling Dog Series" real quickly then get ready for class tomorrow night. Looking forward to closure on this semester.
This is a cool little small work of a dog named Buddy from down around the Austin area. He lives on a Vineyard...the Lost Creek Vineyard. He likes to eat grapes.

This year I don't like Monday's-
~Missed posting yesterday. That's okay. Needed a down day, but need to keep posting. On that off day, the Brain really began clicking about this Blog concept. I could separate motif's or genre's or subject's into separate blogs.
I have a Hot Air Balloon Series that is so bright and cheerful and light-hearted. Those paintings make for a good escape from more serious works and series, and I have found they can make a difference. I found a place to hang them all today- at a Hospital in a therapy clinic. We removed all of their old faded and framed prints from the 70's and hung originals everywhere.
The reception has been very positive. People are really enjoying the change, the bright colors and the livliness. Now I have this idea to begin inquiring of children's and veteran's hospitals and private therapy rooms and move this exhibit there in about 6 months. It is not a gallery, but it is better than having them stacked in the Loft.
